- Tomoland today announced it has successfully raised $2 million.
- The funding round was led by Sky9 Capital, with participation from WAGMI Ventures and Aureus Dealers.
- Tomoland is launching TOMO, the foundational layer for Trustless Open Market Ownership.
Tomoland, a mobile-first user-generated content (UGC) platform, has closed a $2 million funding round to connect its proven mobile gaming foundation with the advantages of Web3. The round was led by Sky9 Capital and included WAGMI Ventures and Aureus Dealers, along with individual investors from Meta, Depinx Capital, NetEase, and Virtuals.
Shortly after the financing announcement, Tomoland released the Blueprint Founder Pass on May 7. All 2,222 passes sold out within two hours, demonstrating significant early interest from supporters, creators, and community members. The free-claim collection gained rapid visibility, appearing on OpenSea’s main page and ranking among the top five trending collections soon after launch.
Bridging Web2 sustainability with Web3 ownership
Tomoland builds on the proven technology and audience of BUD World, which together have more than 30 million downloads across Google Play and the App Store. With a core team that includes talent from AAA studios such as Tencent and NetEase, Tomoland is positioned to preserve Web2 revenue sustainability while adding genuine Web3 ownership throughout the user experience.
“Our goal is to bridge Web2 and Web3 in a way that feels accessible and rewarding for everyone,” said Darren, Tomoland’s CMO.
An ecosystem for Trustless Open Market Ownership (TOMO)
Tomoland is introducing TOMO as the foundational layer for Trustless Open Market Ownership. TOMO establishes an open framework where maps, gameplay systems, AI tools, and user-generated content can create real value for the community. This structural approach differentiates Tomoland from traditional gaming companies and one-off NFT projects by emphasizing a composable ecosystem that rewards contribution and creativity.
The Blueprint Founder Pass origin
As part of its early rollout, Tomoland issued 2,222 Blueprint Founder Passes as ERC-721 tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. The launch used a contribution-gated model to prioritize active creators, builders, and early contributors when claiming origin positions.
- Total supply: 2,222 passes
- Mint type: Free claim (one per wallet)
- Utility features: Access to advanced AI tools, ecosystem multipliers, early VIP access to the ecosystem, and airdrop boosts
“Before Tomoland had a recognized name, it had 2,222 builders. This pass recognizes them,” added Darren.
A builder-first ecosystem
Tomoland’s roadmap is guided by industry mentors who add institutional credibility and strategic perspective, including:
- Dominic Jang, former CBO of MapleStory Universe and Head of Business Development at Oasys.
- Hazel Zhang, Portfolio Lead at Animoca Brands.
