Crypto.com Integrates Sei Network to Boost Institutional Security and Access

  • The exchange now supports Sei’s native token with compatible cold storage.
  • Institutions can securely manage SEI for ecosystem growth, treasury operations, and staking.
  • Accelerated institutional adoption will help drive Sei’s expansion.

Crypto.com has officially integrated Sei into its institutional custody network, giving businesses and traders a secure option to hold and manage SEI assets.

The partnership aims to strengthen user confidence and open new opportunities for validators, funds, and treasuries operating on the Sei blockchain.

Crypto.com Custody provides custody services to leading institutions and high-net-worth clients with enterprise-grade security.

It has now extended those capabilities to support Sei.

Commenting on the development, Crypto.com’s Chief Operating Officer and President, Aric Anziani, said:

Institutional custody is a foundational element for scaling blockchain ecosystems. We are pleased to support Sei Network’s mission to power high-frequency, low-latency applications with secure infrastructure that meets the highest standards of compliance and operational integrity.

These remarks reflect Crypto.com’s vision to be a backbone of secure crypto infrastructure for finance- and trading-focused platforms.

Why this matters for Sei

Since launching its mainnet in 2023, Sei has grown into a notable Layer 1 focused on on-chain finance and high-speed trading.

The SEI network supports nearly 50 million wallets and handles billions of transactions.

Recently, the blockchain integrated PayPal’s stablecoin to help expand crypto adoption in global finance.

That move highlights growing institutional interest in the Sei Network. As staking activity increases, the platform needs robust security and compliant custody solutions to operate smoothly.

Messari noted that SEI participants celebrated positive performance as the chain matures.

Crypto.com Custody secures assets with innovative tools and institutional-grade cold storage, enabling large investors to manage SEI for treasury operations, ecosystem growth, and validator incentives while minimizing risk.

The Sei team has welcomed Crypto.com’s support as a milestone for broader adoption.

Justin Barlow, Director of the Sei Development Foundation, said:

We are thrilled to see another leading provider of institutional-grade custody solutions choose to support Sei Network. Through Crypto.com Custody, institutional investors will have another regulated, secure way to interact with Sei.

Barlow’s comments echo a broader trend of blockchain networks integrating with security and compliance frameworks to offer institutional-grade services.

Sei V3 Giga update

Crypto.com’s integration comes as Sei prepares for the V3 Giga upgrade, which aims to introduce innovative scaling solutions for applications compatible with Ethereum.

The upgrade targets massive throughput—up to 200,000 transactions per second (TPS)—and sub-400ms finality, positioning Sei to expand Web3 access and performance.

Sei is about to flip the switch on its Giga Upgrade.@SeiNetwork is aiming for 200,000 TPS with sub-400ms finality.

That’s 50x today’s ceiling and would make $SEI the fastest EVM chain in existence.

With secure custody in place, Sei is better positioned to attract institutional liquidity and expand its validator set.

SEI price outlook

Sei Network’s native token has mirrored broader market declines.

It fell nearly 4% over the past 24 hours to $0.3254 amid a market sell-off following the latest FOMC-driven rally.

Despite short-term weakness, analysts expect solid rebounds in upcoming sessions and during the season often dubbed “Uptober.”

Institutional use cases and improved custody support could underpin strong SEI growth during future bull market runs.
