The partnership focuses on onboarding a new wave of game developers into blockchain gaming.
Wemade, a prominent publicly traded game developer based in South Korea, has announced a strategic partnership with Space and Time (SxT), a provider of decentralized data warehousing.
This collaboration enables Wemade—whose market capitalization stands around $1.4 billion—to integrate SxT’s developer tools into its expanding lineup of blockchain and gaming services. Wemade is best known as the studio behind the blockbuster RPG “The Legend of Mir 2.”
Wemade says Space and Time’s decentralized toolset will support more than 20 play-to-earn (P2E) titles, including the global top game MIR4. The partnership will operate through Wemade’s blockchain gaming platform WEMIX PLAY.
Powering next-gen GameFi development
WEMIX PLAY is part of Wemade’s broader ecosystem, which includes the WEMIX 3.0 mainnet for NFTs and DeFi and the WEMIX coin that underpins the network. WEMIX is also rolling out an Ethereum layer-2 solution using zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology to improve scalability, user privacy, and security.
Space and Time’s products will provide significant benefits to the Wemade ecosystem, offering developers access to real-time, tamper-proof analytics, a serverless API gateway, and low-cost on-chain storage.
These capabilities simplify the development and deployment of decentralized applications (dApps) and enable Wemade to implement sophisticated earning mechanisms across various P2E titles.
The two companies say their partnership aims to accelerate the next phase of GameFi development. Nate Holiday, CEO and co-founder of Space and Time, stated the collaboration will help the blockchain gaming industry “onboard the next wave of game developers.”
WEMIX CEO Shane Kim added that blockchain gaming gives players greater control and ownership of digital assets, and that working with SxT supports Wemade’s broader objective of enhancing that ownership experience.
“As the blockchain transformation of traditional games continues to grow, the partnership with Space and Time will help strengthen our blockchain infrastructure capabilities and contribute to our commitment to building an inter-game economy,” he said.
