Uniswap has announced the mainnet launch of Unichain, its decentralized Superchain layer-2 network. The Uniswap Labs team revealed the rollout of the Ethereum-compatible L2 on February 11.
Unichain goes live almost four months after its initial unveiling in October 2024. Since then, the network has undergone extensive testing, processing more than 95 million transactions and deploying over 14.7 million smart contracts.
The Unichain mainnet debuts with nearly 100 on-chain crypto products, including offerings from Coinbase, Uniswap, Circle, Lido, and Morpho. The platform expects additional products and protocols to go live on the network starting today.
Coinbase Onramp is expanding to Unichain. @unichain users now have a seamless way to convert fiat-to-crypto, with fee-free USDC onramping available at launch.

In a statement about the launch, Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams said:
“Unichain is the next major step — an L2 designed for DeFi. Launching as a phase-1 rollup with 1-second block times, it only gets better from here. In the months and years ahead, we will roll out many new improvements to accelerate blockchain scaling.”
Adams shared his comments via a post on X. Uniswap v4 was released in late January and builds on the innovations introduced in v2 and v3, delivering the highest level of customization alongside lower costs. Uniswap v4 is already live on Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum, Zora Network, OP Mainnet, Blast, World Chain, and Avalanche.
