The Ukrainian Minister for Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, announced on Twitter that the country’s NFT Museum team created a special non-fungible token (NFT) dedicated to Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla.
Elon Musk has been a prominent supporter of Ukraine since the Russian invasion, providing crucial assistance at critical moments. Alongside the announcement of the commemorative NFT, the minister revealed that the museum has raised 258 ETH, which is roughly equivalent to USD 725,000.
Ukrainian NFT Museum
Known as “Meta History: Museum of War,” the NFT museum hosts a curated collection of NFTs that capture key moments and scenes from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The collection aims to preserve, document, and share visual and digital records of the war in a format accessible to global audiences.
The museum was established last month to generate funds for humanitarian needs arising from the conflict. Proceeds from the NFT sales are being collected on the Ethereum blockchain and funneled into the Ministry’s official cryptocurrency wallet. To date, the wallet holds 258 ETH, which the ministry intends to allocate toward relief and support efforts for civilians and service members affected by the war.
By leveraging blockchain technology, the museum seeks to create a transparent mechanism for collecting donations and distributing aid. The NFT initiative also serves as a digital archive, preserving moments of resilience, loss, and solidarity for historical record and public awareness.
Elon Musk’s Support for Ukraine
One of the most visible and immediate examples of external support has been the deployment of Starlink satellite internet terminals. Early in the conflict, as Russian attacks damaged and disrupted conventional communications infrastructure, Minister Fedorov appealed for Starlink terminals to help restore connectivity and maintain vital communications across Ukraine.
Since then, more than a thousand Starlink terminals have been deployed across the country, helping hospitals, emergency services, military units, and civilians stay connected during blackouts and network outages. This connectivity has proven essential for coordination of humanitarian assistance, emergency response, and continued civil society operations under difficult conditions.
Despite these contributions, Ukraine continues to require assistance and support from the international community. The NFT museum’s fundraising effort represents one of many initiatives aimed at mobilizing resources through innovative channels. Funds raised via NFT sales and crypto donations supplement more traditional forms of humanitarian aid, helping to provide medical supplies, shelter, food, and other critical services to those impacted by the war.
