TON and M Surge 30% as BTC Hits $81K — Crypto Market Watch

Bitcoin’s steady upward movement continued in recent hours following yesterday’s sharp volatility, with the cryptocurrency reaching $81,350 for the first time since late January.

Most large-cap altcoins remained relatively muted on the day. Ethereum (ETH) and Tron (TRX) posted modest gains, while XRP, BNB, and DOGE showed slight declines. HYPE is trading above $43 today.

BTC Reaches New Local High

Last week’s breakout attempt stalled around $79,500 as selling pressure returned, pushing the price below $75,000 by Wednesday after the U.S. Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged for the third consecutive meeting in 2026. Bitcoin recovered in the days that followed and tested $79,000 again on Friday after reports surfaced that Iran had submitted a new peace proposal to the United States.

Although that proposal was rejected, Bitcoin held near $78,000 on Saturday and briefly climbed to $79,300 on Sunday when another proposal was reportedly delivered to Washington. That too was denied by the administration, and BTC drifted back to about $78,000.

On Monday, bullish momentum resumed and pushed Bitcoin above $80,000 for the first time since January 31. The move was interrupted by reports that Iran had struck a U.S. Navy vessel, causing BTC to pull back to roughly $78,400 before the claim was denied by U.S. officials. Following that clarification, Bitcoin rallied again and peaked a little above $81,300 earlier today, marking a new three-month high.

At the time of writing, BTC is trading just under $81,000. Its market capitalization is approaching $1.62 trillion, and Bitcoin dominance is roughly 59% on CoinGecko.

Notable Movers: TON and MEME

Today’s biggest winners include Toncoin (TON) and MemeCore (M), each rising about 30%. TON surged to approximately $1.80, while M reached around $3.50. Morpho (MORPHO) also gained, climbing roughly 10% to $2.15.

Ethereum is trading close to $2,400 after a slight uptick, and TRX has risen to $0.34 despite ongoing legal disputes surrounding Justin Sun and the WLFI project. Interestingly, the WLFI token itself is up around 7% on the day.

Other notable small gains include HYPE, ADA, BCH, and XMR, each up 2–3% for the day. Meanwhile, XRP, BNB, DOGE, and SOL posted marginal losses.

The total cryptocurrency market capitalization added about $30 billion and now sits above $2.75 trillion on CoinGecko.
