Tether Leads $10M Funding Round for Cross-Border Payments Firm Mansa

  • Tether backed a $10 million funding round for cross-border payments firm MANSA.
  • Venture firm Polymorphic co-led the round, which raised $7 million from investors on top of a prior $3 million pre-seed raise.

Tether, issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT, led a $10 million financing round for MANSA, a company focused on cross-border payment solutions.

MANSA announced the close of the $10 million round on Thursday, February 20, noting that the capital infusion will be instrumental to the fintech’s plans to improve cross-border payments by addressing liquidity challenges faced by payment providers.

Polymorphic Capital co-led the round alongside Tether, with participation from venture investors including Octerra Capital, Faculty Group and Trive Digital.

Previously, MANSA raised $3 million in a pre-seed round; the additional $7 million from the latest financing brings the total to $10 million. According to the company’s blog post, the funds will support MANSA’s expansion efforts across Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Part of the financing will be used to build tailored liquidity solutions and complementary products designed to enable on-chain payments.

“By integrating on-chain payments and leveraging efficient liquidity solutions, we’re tackling critical issues in cross-border transactions—making payments faster, cheaper and more reliable worldwide,” said Mouloukou Sanoh, CEO and co-founder of MANSA.

Payments firm targets global expansion

Launched in August 2024, MANSA has grown quickly, forming key partnerships across the payments ecosystem. The company has integrated with payment providers across Africa, Asia and South America.

The company reported reaching $11 million in on-chain transactions in January 2025, representing a 574% year-over-year increase. That growth coincides with broader adoption of stablecoins, with USDT playing a significant role.

“By leveraging USDT for real-time settlements and instant payments, MANSA is solving pain points for payment businesses operating in emerging markets. We are proud to partner with MANSA and support their efforts to reshape global payments infrastructure,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether.
