- Syscoin’s architecture and the new UTXO Bridge improve Web3 scalability and interoperability.
SYS Labs, the team behind Rollux, has announced Rollux Phase 2, a major update that brings an extensive suite of decentralized finance (DeFi) tools secured by Bitcoin and Syscoin. This release marks a notable advancement for the Web3 ecosystem, improving performance, accessibility, and composability across networks.
Rollux Phase 2
Rollux Phase 2 represents a substantial progression for DeFi, emphasizing innovation, inclusivity, and practical utility. Leveraging Bitcoin’s security model alongside Syscoin’s data availability and architectural strengths, SYS Labs aims to strengthen the foundations of blockchain infrastructure and decentralized finance.
As an EVM-compatible Layer 2, Rollux taps into Bitcoin’s mining security to optimize applications originally designed for Ethereum. Central to the ecosystem is SuperDapp, an integrated platform that combines AI features, messaging, video calls, a non-custodial crypto wallet, and a developer marketplace—designed to give users a private, secure space for online interactions while extending the functionality available to builders.
The Phase 2 rollout delivers a comprehensive set of DeFi capabilities intended to address the enduring blockchain trilemma—speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Key components include a ZK-lite client, cross-chain bridges, decentralized exchanges (DEXs), liquidity protocols, yield aggregators, and a launchpad to support new projects and token launches.
Underpinning Rollux’s progress is Syscoin’s dual Layer-1 design, which combines a native UTXO chain with an NEVM chain. Responding to demand for smoother asset flows, the newly introduced UTXO Bridge simplifies migration paths into Rollux’s EVM Layer 2, helping to bridge UTXO-based assets and smart contract environments.
Phase 2 also expands Rollux’s catalog of Web3 applications and services. Notable additions include the Pegasys DeFi exchange, the Luxy NFT platform, and Pali Wallet—available on both web and mobile. Governance and organizational tooling are supported by DAOSYS, while Camada offers a non-custodial, compliance-oriented crypto trading experience. The ecosystem’s breadth is further extended by Chainge, a cross-chain aggregated DEX; Agave, a DeFi lending protocol; Gamma, a liquidity protocol; Nexter, a prediction market; GoRollux, a launchpad; Beefy, a yield aggregator; and LayerSwap, which enables direct, instant transfers from centralized exchanges to blockchains.
Together, these components create a layered environment designed to accelerate developer innovation, improve user experience, and foster greater interoperability across chains. Rollux Phase 2 positions the network to support a wider range of DeFi use cases while maintaining strong security and cost advantages derived from Bitcoin and Syscoin’s complementary architectures.
