- The price of Story (IP) plunged sharply, hitting a Friday low of $7.13 as losses widened amid profit-taking.
- IP is falling as selling pressure wipes out millions of positions in the market.
- Analysts say Story’s strong appeal as a real-world asset platform could help the IP price rebound.
Story (IP), the native token of the Story Protocol, experienced a steep correction over the past 24 hours.
During a drop of more than 25%, the IP token gave back most of the gains it had recorded earlier in the week when bulls pushed the price to a fresh record.
The losses coincided with increased selling pressure as profit-taking across the market weighed on major coins.
IP price falls amid profit-taking
Story is a blockchain focused on intellectual property, designed as an AI-native infrastructure targeting the multitrillion-dollar IP asset class.
The protocol’s IP token, which powers a chain built to tokenize and manage intellectual property rights—from AI models to creative works—plummeted roughly 25% in the past 24 hours.
That decline pushed the price down to a low of $7.13, extending the dramatic retreat that followed IP’s peak at $14.89.
From the September 22 high, Story’s price has fallen more than 51%.
Earlier enthusiasm for Story’s innovative approach to programmable IP licenses and its integration with decentralized applications helped bulls gain momentum.
However, with a broader market sell-off led by Bitcoin and major altcoins, IP has surrendered the bulk of its recent gains.

CoinMarket data show 24-hour trading volume jumped 41% to over $361 million, indicating a rush of sell orders.
The sharp descent intensified profit-taking: the IP-focused blockchain solutions platform could face further downward pressure.
Story is currently trading near $7.20, with bears shaving roughly 30% off IP’s value over the past week.
Despite the protocol’s inventive RWA (real-world assets) approach, Story is subject to many headwinds affecting the broader crypto market, including a pullback in risk assets.
Why are analysts still bullish on Story (IP)?
Even amid the turmoil, some observers point to underlying strengths. Story Protocol’s recent tokenization of high-profile IP demonstrates real-world utility.
Key partnerships and integrations indicate growing traction and institutional interest as AI adoption and blockchain use expand—factors that support a bullish outlook.
As real-world assets take shape, Story’s focus on the multi-trillion-dollar IP market gives it a strategic advantage.
“At its core, Story is the only blockchain specifically designed to make IP programmable, traceable, and monetizable in real time at global scale.
Conventional blockchains can represent static ownership but cannot embed dynamic, programmable licensing terms,” the Story team said after mainnet launch.
Crypto analysts have also pointed to the launch of the Story Trust by Grayscale as a potential catalyst for IP demand; excitement around ETFs and institutional interest could be decisive.
Holding above $6.00 and rebounding toward $10 would support IP bulls. Conversely, a drop below this key demand zone could expose sellers to a target near $3.20.
