Story (IP) Prices Plummet 25% Amid Intensifying Profit-Taking

  • On Friday, Story (IP) plunged to a low of $7.13, extending losses as traders took profits.
  • IP fell as sell pressure erased millions of positions across the market.
  • Analysts say Story’s appeal as a real-world assets platform could help the token recover.

The Story Protocol token, Story (IP), experienced a sharp pullback over the past 24 hours.

With a decline of more than 25%, IP wiped out much of the gains it had posted earlier this week when bulls pushed it to a record high.

The rout intensified as profit-taking across the broader market hit major tokens, increasing selling pressure and driving losses.

IP price tumbles amid profit-taking

Story is an intellectual property-focused blockchain designed to provide AI-native infrastructure for the roughly $80 trillion IP asset class.

The protocol’s IP token powers the blockchain and facilitates tokenization and management of IP assets—from AI models to creative works. Over the past 25 hours, the token plunged about 24%.

The drop took the price down to a low of $7.13, following a steep retreat from the all-time high of $14.89.

That decline means Story’s price has slid more than 51% since the peak on September 22.

Enthusiasm around Story Protocol’s programmable IP licensing approach and its integrations with decentralized applications fueled the earlier rally.

However, the token has given back most of those gains as Bitcoin’s sell-off and a broader pullback in major altcoins pressured markets.

CoinMarket data show trading volume rose about 41% in the past day to more than $361 million, indicating a surge in sell orders.

The sharp decline has fed further profit-taking, and the IP-focused blockchain platform may face additional downside pressure.

At present, Story is trading around $7.20, with bears erasing roughly 30% of IP’s value over the last week.

While Story Protocol brings innovative RWA (real-world assets) approaches, it must contend with many headwinds affecting most cryptocurrencies, including a broader risk-asset slump.

Why analysts remain bullish on Story (IP)

Despite the volatility, some observers point to enduring strengths. Story Protocol’s recent tokenization of high-profile IP demonstrates real-world utility.

Key partnerships and integrations underscore the platform’s appeal, and growing institutional interest in AI and blockchain adoption adds to the bullish case.

As the RWA market develops, Story’s focus on the multi‑trillion-dollar IP space gives it a strategic advantage.

“Fundamentally, Story is the only blockchain purpose-built to enable programmable, traceable, and monetizable IP in real time at a global scale,” the Story team said after mainnet launch.

Traditional blockchains can represent static ownership but cannot embed dynamic, programmable licensing terms, the team added.

Crypto analysts have also noted that initiatives like the Story Trust Fund launched by Grayscale could act as a catalyst for IP. ETF-like structures and institutional demand may prove important drivers.

Holding above $6.00 and staging a recovery toward $10.00 would strengthen IP’s bullish outlook. Conversely, a break below that key support could prompt sellers to target the $3.20 area.
