- Sony has teamed up with LINE to bring mini-apps to the Soneium layer-2 platform.
- The partnership aims to accelerate web3 adoption among more than 200 million users.
- Sony L2, which launched its mainnet in January this year, will receive four mini-games.
Soneium, the layer-2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, is partnering with LINE, a social platform with around 200 million active users, to integrate four popular mini-applications into its ecosystem.
According to Soneium, the collaboration is designed to simplify and speed up web3 adoption. Sony plans to leverage LINE’s vast user base together with Soneium’s scalable blockchain technology to introduce mini-apps into the network.
In its announcement, Soneium said the partnership will deliver new decentralized experiences to users in the coming months.
The collaboration will also provide strategic support to LINE MINI app developers, including community building, marketing and IP partnerships. This backing enables creators to focus on innovation while Soneium supports growth. Jun Watanabe, president of Sony Block Solutions Labs, said:
“LINE has established a strong presence, and integrating successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is a next step toward making Soneium more accessible. We believe this collaboration will drive engagement and adoption in ways that were previously difficult to achieve.”
Which games are coming to Soneium?
Per Soneium’s blog post, the first four gaming experiences arriving on the L2 through the LINE integration are Sleepagotchi LITE, Farm Frens, Moonveil – Puffy Match, and Pocket Mob.
Sleepagotchi LITE is a mini-app game that allows players to earn daily points without tracking sleep. After reaching 1 million Telegram users in a month and ranking among the top revenue-generating apps, Sleepagotchi LITE plans to expand its global reach through LINE.
Farm Frens, developed by Amihan Entertainment with more than $10 million in funding, is an offbeat farming game. Its relaunch on Soneium aims to attract LINE’s web2 user base.
Moonveil – Puffy Match is a layer-2, no-knowledge game, while Pocket Mob is a mafia-style role-playing game in which players battle and form families within the LINE ecosystem.
LINE’s dominance in digital services complements Soneium’s vision of seamless blockchain integration. By bringing these mini-apps on-chain, the partnership bridges web2 and web3, offering users decentralized benefits without added complexity.
Sony launched the Soneium L2 mainnet in January 2025. Its partnerships to date include collaborations with stablecoin issuer Circle and Solv Protocol, a Bitcoin staking protocol.
