Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa Launch ApeCoin-Themed Music NFT Collection

APE price has maintained a bullish stance in recent days as investors grow increasingly enthusiastic about the coin. Today, popular rapper Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (Snoop Dogg), in collaboration with fellow rapper Wiz Khalifa, released a new music collection.

The NFT collection, themed around the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and ApeCoin (APE), is titled “Ape Drops 03: An 8th.” It includes eight tracks and was minted in multiple copies.

This announcement came shortly after BAYC owner Yuga Labs secured $450 million in a funding round led by venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

In a Twitter post, Snoop Dogg confirmed the sale and explained that the tracks will only be available for purchase for two days, although listeners can stream them before buying. Each purchase must be made using the APE tokens distributed last week via an airdrop.

There are 8,000 NFTs available for sale, with prices set between 12 APE and 15 APE per token. Based on current valuations, each token costs roughly $165 to $210.

Celebrities Flock to the NFT Space

Numerous musicians have embraced NFTs, including acts such as Kings of Leon and Grimes, who have released their own NFT projects.

Snoop Dogg has been active in the NFT space for several years and titled this release “Ape Drop” as his third such collection. He is also an active collector on OpenSea and has launched several drops, such as “Journey With the Dogg” in partnership with Crypto.com.

Beyond music releases, Snoop Dogg has engaged with the metaverse as well. He partnered with The Sandbox to release 10,000 playable avatars, a move that contributed to a significant surge in the Sandbox token, SAND.

Snoop Dogg is not the only celebrity participating in NFTs. Other artists who are active collectors or have released NFT collections include Justin Bieber, Eminem, and Gunna.

Athletes have also entered the space: Lionel Messi and LeBron James are among the recent sports figures to launch or invest in NFTs. The growing number of celebrities joining the NFT ecosystem has helped drive broader awareness and adoption of digital collectibles.
