Sneakmart, a French startup aiming to enhance users’ Metaverse experience by tokenizing real-world sneakers, has announced a major partnership with StockX, a leading sneaker resale marketplace.
The partnership allows Sneakmart to offer access to sneaker NFTs to its customers via its Metakicks platform. This blockchain-based initiative will enable sneaker enthusiasts and collectors to expand and personalize their collections as they explore the world of digitization and Web3.
StockX will serve as Sneakmart’s official partner for physical sneakers and will handle fulfillment for all winners from the initial Metakicks drop.
Unique sneaker NFTs and more than $200k in prizes
The collection will feature 15 unique 3D animated designs, and Metakicks boxes will be offered across four rarity tiers: Rare, Super Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
For the upcoming Metakicks release, Sneakmart has allocated over $200,000 in prizes and has secured support from football stars such as Didier Drogba, Kingsley Coman, and Marco Verratti.
High-profile products like the Nike Air Jordan 1 High have helped drive interest in sneaker-related limited NFTs, contributing to an industry market estimated at $6 billion. A thriving secondary sales market and a broad move toward leveraging Web3 indicate that the fashion and sneaker industries are only at the start of their digital transformation, the platform said.
