RUNE Drops 15% After THORChain Hit by New Hack, Says ZachXBT

Popular on-chain investigator ZachXBT informed his 100,000 Telegram followers minutes ago that the decentralized exchange THORChain appears to have been targeted in a new crypto hack.

Preliminary reports indicate the breach affected multiple networks — Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain and Base — and the exploited amount is estimated at more than $10.5 million.

There has been no official confirmation from THORChain’s team at the time of this writing. Still, the project’s native token suffered an immediate decline after the news spread on X (formerly Twitter).

RUNE was trading above $0.58 before dropping by double digits to a two-week low near $0.50, where it later found some support.
