PRED Launches Public FIFA World Cup Prediction Markets After 86% Retention in Private Beta

[PRESS RELEASE – Panama City, Panama, June 4, 2026]

Following nearly $5 million in beta trading volume, Pred today opened public access ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, offering unique markets and industry-leading market resolution speeds.

Pred, a peer-to-peer sports trading exchange built on Base, has moved out of private beta after a program that kept 86% of traders active week over week and processed over $5 million in notional volume across 300+ invited users.

Over an eight-week beta, traders executed more than 100,000 trades on soccer markets, and 83% of those participants returned with repeat deposits.

As a sports-native exchange, Pred is engineered for the demands of live events. Traders match positions directly with one another through an on-chain order book. Settlements occur in as little as 200 milliseconds, and markets resolve in approximately three minutes rather than hours. Positions are denominated in USDC, settled on-chain, and both deposits and open positions earn native yield.

The launch coincides with the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Pred focuses on in-game markets that general prediction platforms typically do not support: 15-minute markets that settle during live play, 1UP and 2UP markets that close the instant a goal margin is reached, and live moneyline markets that deliver competitive pricing. During beta, a typical Premier League match ran several of these markets in parallel, while most prediction platforms offer only a few sub-markets per match.

“I spent 22 years trading sports, watching exploitative sportsbook pricing and seeing sharp traders lose advantage as soon as they began to win,” said Amit Mahensaria, CEO and co-founder of Pred. “Pred is the exchange I wanted as a trader: the UX and speed of a sportsbook combined with the pricing transparency of an on-chain exchange.”

Today’s general-purpose prediction markets have benefited from fragmented market structures and sportsbook pricing inefficiencies, but they are not optimized for live sports—neither in user experience, speed, nor market variety. Sports trading requires a verticalized approach, and given the size of the sports betting ecosystem, it needs a purpose-built exchange.

The live product, Pred V2, is the result of redesigns informed by more than 300 calls with beta users. Pred is backed by Accel and Coinbase Ventures.
