Solana’s meme coin market has seen a sudden surge, with Bonk ranking among the top gainers as traders search for fresh opportunities.
While popular dog-themed meme coins like Shiba Inu and Dogwifhat are also climbing, much of the buzz centers on the upcoming release of Tequila (JULIO), a new Solana-based meme coin scheduled to debut on July 10.
Solana meme coins on the rise
Meme coins are currently outperforming many other segments of the crypto market. Driven by this sector’s momentum, its total market capitalization grew 8.5% over 24 hours, surpassing $45 billion.
Over the same period, Solana meme coins’ market capitalization rose by more than 14%. Tokens approaching listings on major exchanges, such as Book of Meme and Slerf, also appreciated, pushing their combined market cap up by roughly 10%.
Although several of these tokens are showing solid upward movement, market attention is focused on Tequila (JULIO). Its July 10 launch could spark the next breakout in the meme coin segment.
Tequila launch arrives amid strong Solana meme coin volatility
Tequila is a new Solana meme coin inspired by the Mexican alcoholic beverage of the same name. The blue agave (Agave tequilana), vital to tequila production, is central to Jalisco state’s economy, where tequila exports could generate an estimated $32 billion in revenue this year.
With those cultural and commercial associations in mind, Tequila (JULIO) aims to bring the tradition and festive spirit of tequila into the Solana ecosystem.
The launch will be a fair distribution: 90% of tokens are allocated to the community, while 10% will support marketing and development efforts.
According to the project site, the total JULIO supply is 100 million tokens, meaning 90 million will be available to the community on launch day. Interest in the project is rising alongside the meme coin revival, and demand for this tequila-themed token could propel its value sharply upward.
JULIO is planned to be listed on Raydium, Solana-based DEXs and AMMs, with further exchange and platform listings following, as outlined in Tequila’s roadmap.
Planned development stages include themed parties, the launch of a tier-three platform, and producing a branded tequila product purchasable with JULIO tokens.
