DeFi Land Launches New Farming-Based P2E Game Feature

DeFi Land, a multi-chain farming simulation built on Solana that gamifies decentralized finance (DeFi), has launched a new play-to-earn (P2E) farming feature.

To date, DeFi Land ranks as the third-largest game by market capitalization, and the team plans to introduce additional features today.

According to DeFi Land’s developers, the platform raised $1.75 million from its NFT sale when it launched earlier this year.

About DeFi Land

DeFi Land is primarily a free-to-play game where players can join without an initial deposit, earn experience points (XP) and compete on leaderboards for monthly rewards.

New DeFi Land P2E gameplay features

With the full P2E launch, users can take part in a range of farming-related activities such as planting, shooting and fishing. The team says the P2E experience will be accessible to a broad audience and will include basic farming simulation elements reminiscent of games like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon.

Payers will earn the game’s native token, DFL, and a new in-game currency called GOLDY will also be introduced.

With GOLDY and DFL, players can upgrade their NFTs, craft, customize and repair in-game items. Developers also say these currencies will enable social interactions between players.

However, the P2E features will be available only to holders of DeFi Land Gen-0 NFTs. OpenSea data shows the floor price for that collection currently sits at 1.55 SOL, roughly $88 at current market rates.

More integrations planned

The DeFi Land team says they will explore a “multi-chain future” in the coming months and expect to announce additional chain integrations in June.

Additionally, an alpha mobile version of DeFi Land is in development and is scheduled for release between July and September.
