Bitget Wallet, a leading cryptocurrency wallet, has unveiled a new opportunity for users with the launch of a 1 million BGB staking pool offering a fixed 5% annual percentage yield (APY). Announced on March 12, 2025, this initiative expands the utility of the Bitget Token (BGB) within the on-chain ecosystem, enabling users to earn passive income securely while retaining full control of their assets.
Trading too risky for you? Stake your $BGB for stable yields instead 💪 @bitgetglobal

The staking program is accessible via the Finance section of the Bitget Wallet app. It features a 90-day lock-up period and limits individual stakes to 2,000 BGB. The pool provides real-time earnings updates and allocates rewards on a first-come, first-served basis until the 1M BGB cap is reached.
By expanding BGB’s role beyond a simple financial instrument, the staking pool integrates the token more deeply into Bitget Wallet’s product suite. Users can leverage BGB for decentralized trading, payments, and even to cover gas fees across multiple blockchains, reducing the need to manage separate gas tokens.
Staking also opens doors to rewards and potential project airdrops. VIP holders gain additional perks within the growing PayFi ecosystem, blending decentralized finance (DeFi) capabilities with everyday spending and merchant payments.
Alvin Kan, Bitget Wallet’s COO, emphasized the company’s goal to broaden BGB’s use cases, stating, “We aim to make decentralized finance more accessible and rewarding for all users.”
With more than 60 million users and support for over 100 blockchains, Bitget Wallet continues to strengthen its position as a Web3 hub. The wallet recently collaborated with Buhayin, a Philippine advocacy group, to promote economic and digital inclusion on the island of Siargao.
The partnership launched during Buhayin’s Kapit-Isla Siargao festival from March 12 to 16, 2025, introducing blockchain-based financial tools and digital literacy programs for local businesses and residents.
A key element of the collaboration is the rollout of PayFi, a payments solution that enables Siargao merchants to accept stablecoins and digital assets instantly. This service aims to better serve tourists, digital nomads, and crypto-savvy visitors by providing fast, seamless digital payments.
Justin Wee, founder of Buhayin, highlighted the initiative’s objective to foster economic resilience in the community. Alvin Kan noted how blockchain technology can help bridge financial gaps. Plans are already underway to expand the model to Dumaguete in July, signaling a broader vision to reach underserved island communities.
Bitget Appoints Intae Song as Chief Sales Officer (CSO)
In a separate development, Bitget has named Intae Song as its Chief Sales Officer to bolster its position in the futures trading market. Song, a cryptocurrency industry veteran since 2017, returns to Bitget after serving as Head of Sales from 2020 to 2023 and later working as a business partner.
His rehiring supports Bitget’s ambitions to enhance institutional-grade trading solutions and risk management tools, particularly for the derivatives market—a central driver of the exchange’s growth. CEO Gracy Chen praised Song’s prior contributions and noted his pivotal role in scaling the platform, which now serves over 100 million users across more than 150 countries.
Song expressed confidence in elevating Bitget’s futures offerings to solidify the company’s leadership in a competitive field. Bitget’s multifaceted expansion—through product innovation, strategic hires, partnerships, and high-profile sports sponsorships like its LaLiga deal—paints a picture of a company accelerating its global footprint.
With Intae Song overseeing futures trading, the Siargao inclusion initiative expanding its reach, and the new staking pool increasing BGB’s appeal, Bitget is positioning itself as a leader in both cryptocurrency trading and practical Web3 adoption.
