Virtual currency exchange bitFlyer Europe recently announced PayPal integration that will allow its PayPal users to fund their bitFlyer accounts
bitFlyer Europe has integrated PayPal as a funding option, enabling millions of European PayPal users to deposit funds directly into their bitFlyer accounts. The move aims to simplify and secure fiat deposits for users who want to buy cryptocurrencies, making the process more accessible—especially for beginners.
Andy Bryant, COO of bitFlyer Europe, said, “We’re proud to offer users the opportunity to use their PayPal accounts to deposit funds for purchasing crypto. The integration of PayPal adds a new funding source for bitFlyer users. Thousands of bitFlyer users already use PayPal for fiat transactions. Now, users can purchase bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the same way too.”
This integration provides an alternative to traditional bank transfers and other legacy deposit methods that often take several business days to complete. In contrast, PayPal deposits are processed almost instantly, allowing users to access funds and execute trades much faster.
“Given that approximately a third of European e-commerce payments are being processed through PayPal, we are more than thrilled to provide users with a deposit method they know and rely upon. The process to deposit through PayPal is entirely frictionless, secure and reliable, with users to be credited near to instantly,” explained Jacek Bastin, Business Strategy Manager at bitFlyer Europe.
When funding an account, bitFlyer Europe users will see PayPal as a payment option. Selecting it will redirect users to PayPal’s site to complete the transfer, after which the deposited funds will be available on bitFlyer nearly instantly.
bitFlyer is currently notable for being regulated to operate in Japan, the United States and Europe. In a market where speed and convenience matter, integrating PayPal—one of the most widely used payment methods in Europe—could improve onboarding and trading experiences for many users.
At present, no crypto exchange universally accepts PayPal deposits. Coinbase, for example, has a partnership with PayPal that supports withdrawals to users’ PayPal accounts, but direct deposit functionality remains relatively rare among exchanges.
