- Bison announces launch of insured Ethereum staking product in partnership with Munich Re and Staking Facilities
- Users can stake with a minimum of just 0.005 ETH and receive weekly rewards
Bison, the cryptocurrency trading platform and exchange-traded fund provider within the Börse Stuttgart Group, has launched a new insured staking service for Ethereum. Announced on October 8, the product is the result of a collaboration between Bison, global reinsurer Munich Re, and German Web3 infrastructure provider Staking Facilities. Munich Re provides reinsurance coverage while Staking Facilities supplies the non-custodial staking infrastructure.
Stake from 0.005 ETH
Bison offers 27 tradable crypto assets on its platform, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Cardano (ADA), and it also provides access to over 2,500 stocks and exchange-traded products. With this new feature, Bison users can stake Ether starting at 0.005 ETH, enabling a broader range of holders to support the network and earn staking rewards. The insured ETH staking rollout is gradual and includes weekly reward payouts and protection against slashing. The insurance covers losses arising from a validator’s misbehavior, reducing the financial risk for stakers.

Bison’s staking service operates with regulated custody: all staked assets are held under Börse Stuttgart Digital Custody. This regulated custody solution is licensed by Germany’s federal financial regulator, BaFin. Earlier this year, the Börse Stuttgart Group achieved progress in tokenized securities settlements through a pilot project with major banks, as part of the European Central Bank’s DLT experiments. In September, Börse Stuttgart Digital, the group’s crypto arm, announced a partnership with DZ Bank to expand crypto trading and custody services for customers.
