Behance, an Adobe platform, has announced support for Phantom Wallet, allowing users to display Solana-based NFTs on their profiles. Users can also show NFTs minted on Ethereum, according to a series of tweets from Adobe’s Vice President of Product, William Allen, as reported to CoinJournal.
Starting today, Behance users can connect their Phantom wallets and showcase NFTs created on Solana directly on their Behance profiles.
On a mission to support creative professionals
Since its founding, Behance’s stated mission has been to help creative professionals build their careers on their own terms. Some members seek full-time employment, others work as freelancers. Many offer subscription services, stream live content, or sell templates and NFTs as part of their business models.
Addressing energy use and transaction costs
Currently, a number of Behance users already display NFTs they minted on Ethereum. However, concerns about the high energy use of some blockchains and related transaction fees have made other creators hesitant. Solana addresses these concerns by operating as a Proof of Stake chain, which greatly reduces energy consumption and lowers transaction costs.
William Allen noted that a transaction on Solana consumes as much energy as a single Google search — a tiny fraction of a cent. Tools such as Holaplex make minting straightforward, and creators can set up their own storefronts on Solana with relative ease.
Solana NFT marketplaces like Magic Eden and Form Function already host many creative sellers, while Metaplex offers full control for users with the necessary technical background. QuickNode assisted Behance in developing this Solana integration.
Preventing theft and protecting credit
Artwork theft has been a major concern in the NFT space, and this issue has been a primary focus for William Allen over the past year. To help protect creators, Solana will soon add addresses to its Content Credentials feature to ensure proper attribution for creators’ work. Additional chains will also be integrated to further secure artists and their creations.
