Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, the ARCHOS Safe-T mini allows its owner to:
– Isolate private keys to secure digital assets
– Send and receive payments securely
– Verify account balances and transactions safely
– Recover cryptocurrencies in the event of theft or loss using a 24-word recovery seed
In detail, the Safe-T mini generates and stores a private key offline on the device, preventing hackers from accessing that key when the device is connected. All cryptographic operations are executed locally on the device.
The built-in screen is sufficiently large to display complete transaction details, enabling the owner to review and approve transactions directly on the device. This prevents a hacker from altering a transaction without the owner noticing.
Finally, the ARCHOS Safe-T mini requires a PIN code to ensure that only the owner can access and use the device.
A chip dedicated to security
Based on open-source firmware developed by TREZOR and respected by the crypto community, ARCHOS applied its expertise in design and security to create its own product.
The device was specifically engineered to include a crypto-memory: a chip dedicated entirely to security. It protects the user’s private keys, supports PIN protection, and includes hardware countermeasures.
On the software side, the code will be open-source and available on GitHub. The ARCHOS Safe-T mini enables recovery of funds on a new device if the original is lost or stolen. This is accomplished with a 24-word recovery seed generated when the Safe-T mini is initialized for the first time.

ARCHOS developed an intuitive web application to get started with the Safe-T mini. Ready to use out of the box, simply connect the Safe-T mini via Micro USB, visit the ARCHOS Safe-T mini web interface from any computer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Supported cryptocurrencies
The ARCHOS Safe-T mini is compatible with Electrum and MyCrypto software. It supports more than 75% of total cryptocurrency market capitalization, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Dash, Litecoin, Ethereum, and ERC-20 tokens. A dedicated team is working on adding support for additional cryptocurrencies, so more compatibilities are expected.
