- Ethereum Classic (ETC) and Algorand (ALGO) rose more than 6% in the past 24 hours
- ApeCoin’s price fell about 10% as the token struggles to find stability just above $10
Most crypto assets traded over the weekend near support levels or slightly down. The market remained a mix of green and red, with certain altcoins showing notable extremes.
Bitcoin hovering around $41,000, Ethereum pushes to break $3,000
Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, continued to slow over the last 24 hours, trading around $41,300. A sharp drop of more than $1,000—from a 24-hour high of $41,680 to $40,668 earlier today—threatened market stability, but the flagship crypto recovered and has since climbed back to $41,375, its current trading level.
Ethereum, up over 13.60% in the past seven days, rebounded to $2,900 after a steady decline pushed its price toward $2,800 support on Sunday. Despite a consistent uptrend across the last five days, Ether has not been able to break the $3,000 resistance.
On Saturday the ETH/USD pair hit a two-week high of $2,980, the closest level to $3,000 since March 2.
Ethereum Classic and Algorand gain more than 6% in 24 hours
Algorand’s native token and Ethereum Classic’s coin are among today’s standout performers.
ALGO is trading at a multiweek high of $0.808 at the time of writing. ALGO/USD had been declining since early March, falling from $0.89 on March 1 to $0.68 last Monday. The pair returned to $0.735 in the first hour of trading today and has since bounced, rising 8.38% on the day.
Ethereum Classic (ETC) is another top gainer this Monday. The native token of the Ethereum hard fork has surged more than 52% in seven days and is closing the gap with Algorand in market-cap rankings. CoinMarketCap data show ETC trading at $39.16 versus the dollar, up 7.10% in the past 24 hours.
ApeCoin, the recently launched governance and utility token in the APE ecosystem, fell to $10.16. The decline reflects waning momentum and reduced hype around the token, contributing to the roughly 10% drop as it struggles to maintain levels above $10.
