Alephium Announces Video Creation Contest with 10,000 ALPH Prize

  • The contest seeks to surface “compelling introductory videos” that avoid technical jargon while highlighting Alephium’s value proposition.

Alephium, a high-performance, scalable blockchain and the first to implement native sharded transactions, has launched a video-creation contest aimed at “attracting and engaging new users.”

Creators will compete for a prize pool of 10,000 ALPH, the Swiss-based blockchain platform said in an announcement shared with CoinJournal on Thursday.

An accessible gateway to Alephium

One of the barriers to wider crypto and blockchain adoption is the perceived complexity of core concepts for newcomers.

Often, people unfamiliar with the technology struggle to grasp certain features and capabilities. Alephium’s novel Proof-of-Work mechanism, Ethereum-inspired smart contracts, and UTXO model can all appear daunting to new users.

Cheng Wang, Alephium co-founder, said:

“We need something that can serve as an accessible gateway for new users; we need great introduction videos. Our community has already impressed us with their content-creation skills, so I am confident this video contest will help us gather creative videos that best describe Alephium.”

Videos should avoid technical jargon

Easy-to-understand videos should cover the introductory topics outlined in “Welcome to Alephium,” the team said in the press release.

Participants are expected to produce videos of five minutes or less. Creators may produce content in any language. They are permitted to use illustrations, 3D animation, voiceovers, and premium slide assets.

However, the content should be free of technical jargon and include links to the whitepapers, GitHub repository, and official social media channels.

How to submit your Alephium video

The contest runs until April 15, 2022; all readable video submissions must be uploaded by 23:59 CET on that date. Entrants should upload their videos to YouTube or Vimeo and tag them with #Alephium and #ALPH.

After uploading, creators must submit the video link and their email address using the contest’s official submission form.

Interested participants are encouraged to review the contest rules or reach out to the team via Discord, Telegram, and Reddit.

Alephium’s mainnet launched in November 2021 and delivers an efficient blockchain infrastructure for decentralized applications (dApps) and decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
