ADA Price Forecast: ADA May Retest $0.5111 Support Amid Downtrend

Key takeaways

  • Cardano’s ADA is the worst-performing coin among the top 10 cryptocurrencies this week, down about 5%.
  • If the downtrend continues, ADA could retest the $0.5111 support level.

ADA underperforms despite broader market recovery

ADA, the native token of the Cardano blockchain, has been the weakest performer among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization this week. The coin has lost nearly 6% of its value over the past seven days and appears to be extending losses into the coming hours or days.

At the time of writing, ADA is trading at $0.5662, down roughly 2% over the past 24 hours. The decline is occurring even as Bitcoin, Ether and several other major cryptocurrencies have recovered following last weekend’s sell-off.

The broader crypto market has added almost $200 billion in market cap since Monday, with Bitcoin reaching the $108,000 area. ADA, however, has yet to mount a meaningful rebound and remains pressured by downward price action.

ADA may retest $0.5111 as bears remain in control

The ADA/USD 4-hour chart shows a clear downtrend, with lower highs and lower lows across shorter and medium timeframes. Technical indicators are bearish, signaling that sellers are currently in command.

The MACD line has slipped into negative territory while the RSI sits near 44, both pointing to ongoing selling pressure. These indicators suggest ADA is likely to remain on the defensive and could see further declines in the near term.

ADA/USD 4-hour chart

With sellers steering the ADA/USD pair, ADA could soon retest the $0.5111 support. Should the downtrend persist, the token may slide toward the next support around $0.4590 — a level not seen since November 2024.

That said, the broader market trend is upward, and a stronger market rally could lift ADA as well. If buying pressure returns, ADA may challenge last week’s high near $0.6580. A move back to the monthly high of $0.75 would require a significantly larger rally and sustained buying momentum.
