Crypto Highlights: Market Adjusts After Wall Street’s Worst Quarter in 2 Years

The overall crypto market has declined over the past 24 hours. All of the top 10 cryptocurrencies have either registered losses or appear volatile at the time of writing.

The U.S. stock market was closed yesterday after its worst quarterly performance in two years. Major indices fell sharply in the session: the S&P 500 (SPX500) dropped 1.32%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJ30) fell 1.25%, and the NASDAQ 100 closed down 1.29%.

U.S. President Joe Biden announced an unprecedented government intervention in the oil market, planning to release 180 million barrels of oil into the market over the next six months.

Top Cryptocurrencies

Bitcoin is down nearly 5% since yesterday, while BNB, Cardano, and Avalanche have each fallen by more than 5%. XRP has declined close to 6%.

Among the top 20, Shiba Inu and Polkadot are the biggest losers, each dropping roughly 8% at the time of writing.

Top 100 Overview

The picture among the top 100 coins is similar: most tokens lost between 6% and 9% in the last 24 hours. Neo and Gala are each down about 10%. Chiliz and IoTeX fell around 12%, erasing gains from yesterday.

On the flip side, Waves is one of the few gainers, rising more than 9% today. Fantom, which announced a $480 million grant program yesterday, gained about 3%.

Zilliqa also rose roughly 3%, driven by renewed interest in its metaverse initiatives. SKALE Network, which continues to attract more developers, increased in value by about 5%.

The single biggest proposal winner is STEPN, with a 49% gain. The native token GMT has seen steady appreciation since early March 2022 after being listed on Binance. Rapidly spreading reports suggest an upcoming partnership between STEPN and an undisclosed party believed to be Binance.

Today’s top performer is Dotmoovs (MOOV), which surged 222% over the last 24 hours. Dotmoovs is a peer-to-peer remote sports competition platform that positions itself as changing how athletic performance is viewed and scored.

The platform claims to have developed AI algorithms capable of analyzing and predicting sports techniques and movements from videos captured on smartphones.
