Currency.com Donates $1 Million to Support Ukraine

Dynamic international cryptocurrency exchange Currency.com announced on its website that it has donated a total of $1 million to support Ukrainians during the country’s humanitarian crisis. The exchange has transferred the funds immediately.

Funds distributed to four charities

The donations were allocated to ASAP Rescue, the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, GlobalGiving, and a humanitarian relief fund operating under the Ministry of Social Policy.

Steve Gregory, Currency.com’s CEO for the United States, commented:

Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine, who are enduring the ravages of war. Many have been forced to flee their homes amid freezing temperatures, power outages, and shortages of food. Every day is a struggle to survive. We want to help where we can.

Exchange donates $500,000 for emergency relief

Currency.com is donating $500,000 to support joint emergency relief efforts by the Red Cross Society of Ukraine and the country’s Ministry of Health. The funds will be used to procure basic necessities and provide medical assistance to Ukrainians displaced from their communities.

$300,000 for food and shelter, $200,000 for evacuations

The remaining funds are allocated as follows: $300,000 will go to the Ministry of Social Policy and GlobalGiving to help people access food, shelter, and healthcare.

The final $200,000 will be donated to ASAP Rescue, a Ukrainian volunteer organization that assists with evacuations during social unrest or natural disasters.

Gregory added:

Like everyone else around the world, we are deeply concerned by the devastating events in Ukraine. As a global company with an international team, we feel a responsibility to assist the victims of this conflict. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and stand ready to provide further support to the people of Ukraine.
