Ondo Finance Launches Permissionless Yieldcoin USDY on Arbitrum

  • Ondo’s USDY Yieldcoin is now live on Arbitrum, offering a 5.35% APY for investors outside the United States.
  • USDY is integrated for trading, lending, and yield generation with Camelot and Dolomite.
  • USDY represents 17% of Arbitrum DAO’s treasury allocation and advances on-chain RWA adoption.

Ondo Finance has launched its permissionless Yieldcoin, USDY, on the Arbitrum blockchain, marking a significant expansion of real-world assets (RWAs) within the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. USDY, a tokenized product backed by U.S. Treasury bills, is now available on Arbitrum—one of the largest and most active DeFi platforms—furthering Ondo’s mission to bridge traditional finance and blockchain infrastructure.

USDY now integrated into major Arbitrum DeFi protocols

Offering an attractive annual percentage yield (APY) of 5.35%, USDY is designed for retail and institutional investors outside the U.S. It combines the dollar-denominated stability of a fiat-linked asset with the yield potential of short-term U.S. Treasury instruments. Following deployment, USDY has been integrated into prominent Arbitrum DeFi protocols such as Camelot and Dolomite, enabling users to trade, lend, and earn yield within a secure, decentralized environment.

Arbitrum has quickly established itself as a leading Layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum, boasting a Total Value Locked (TVL) in the tens of billions and a substantial allocation in stablecoins. The inclusion of USDY in this ecosystem follows a strategic decision by the Arbitrum DAO to invest 6 million ARB from its treasury into Ondo’s Yieldcoin, making USDY represent approximately 17% of the DAO’s allocation. This move comes after the DAO approved a proposal to enhance ARB performance and treasury security.

USDY holders on Arbitrum can access trading on Camelot—the network’s largest decentralized exchange—and lending markets on Dolomite, a key money market protocol. Token price data is supported by primary and secondary feeds from Pyth, improving USDY’s utility across various DeFi applications. With USDY’s launch, Ondo Finance continues to accelerate the on-chain adoption of RWAs, offering global investors a compliant, yield-generating asset within Arbitrum’s rapidly growing DeFi landscape.
