DeFi Land, a cross-chain farming simulation game built on Solana that gamifies Decentralized Finance (DeFi), has launched a new farm-themed play-to-earn (P2E) game mode.
To date, DeFi Land ranks as the third-largest game by market capitalization, and the team has indicated additional features will roll out today.
According to the DeFi Land team, the platform raised $1.75 million from non-fungible token (NFT) sales when it launched earlier this year.

DeFi Land is primarily a free-to-play experience where players can join without any initial investment, earn XP, and compete on leaderboards for monthly rewards.
The new P2E game feature
With the full P2E rollout, users can participate in an array of farm-related activities such as farming, shooting, and fishing. The developers also said the P2E mode will be accessible to players while offering core farming-simulation elements reminiscent of titles like Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon.

Players are rewarded with the gameโs native token, DFL, and a new in-game currency called GOLDY will also be introduced.
Using GOLDY and DFL, players can upgrade NFTs, craft, customize and repair in-game items. Developers add that the currencies will also facilitate social interactions between players.
These P2E features are limited to owners of DeFi Land Gen-0 NFTs. OpenSea data shows the collectionโs floor price currently sits at 1.55 SOL, which is roughly $88 in the current market.
More integrations ahead
The DeFi Land team noted they will explore a โmulti-chain futureโ over the coming months and plan to announce additional chain integrations in June.
In addition, a mobile version of DeFi Land is already in development, with an expected release window between July and September of this year.
